In continuation of this, a British national’s 'Goodbye India' post from Ahmedabad went viral on June 18, 2025, making people even more emotional.

For those unaware, the London-bound Air India Flight AI171 crashed with 242 people onboard near Ahmedabad airport on June 12. The plane went down into the hostel mess of BJ Medical College in Ahmedabad’s Meghaninagar area shortly after takeoff. Among the passengers were two British nationals, Jamie Meek and his husband Fiongal Greenlaw, who had bid farewell to India, calling it a “magical experience,” before boarding the ill-fated AI171 flight. The couple had been on a trip to India and had concluded their journey in Gujarat on June 12.

The clip, showing moments from their joyful ceremony, was originally shared by Jamie on social media in 2024, when the couple had celebrated their third wedding in Las Vegas.
