Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Government’s Department for the Welfare of Differently Abled successfully hosted ‘Tech4All 2025’, a leading exhibition showcasing technological assistive devices, on June 12 and 13, 2025. The two-day event primarily focused on introducing various modern devices designed to aid visually impaired persons in their learning journey.
Librarians from the Braille Division of the Anna Centenary Library enthusiastically participated in the exhibition, following instructions from their Principal Librarian and Information Officer. They thoroughly explored the diverse learning aids created for the visually impaired, gaining a detailed understanding of their functions and benefits.
Several companies, including startups from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, participated in the expo at Kalaivanar Arangam, displaying advanced technologies aimed at supporting people with disabilities. Around 1,500 people, 60% of whom were persons with disabilities, had registered for the event. Attendees were able to try out demonstrations of artificial limbs, 360-degree VR videos designed especially for children with autism and mental challenges, Al-powered glasses, and electric wheelchair bikes
